"I was born in Cyprus and I grew up in Larnaca which is known as the city of Saint Lazarus. My memories of Holy Week begin with Saint Lazarus Saturday and the procession of the Saint around the city as the protector of Larnaca. My father was a high-school teacher of Physical education and very active in sports as an athlete and a coach. Following in the footsteps of my father during my childhood and after finishing my duties in the army I came in USA to study Physical Education. Maybe you have heard the saying 'when you are making plans God is laughing' so my life changed direction when I received the calling during my third year of studies. At that time I transferred to the seminary at Hellenic College Holy Cross.
"After my graduation from the seminary, I was, ordained a deacon and I served for a year at the parish of Holy Cross in San Mateo California. I transferred to the Metropolis of Chicago and I was ordained a priest at Assumption church in Chicago. I served there for a number of years and then was transferred to Holy Cross in Justice, Illinois. After this, I was transferred to Kimissis Tis Theotokos in Racine, Wisconsin. Since 2019, I have been serving at the Holy Seplucher in Jerusalem.
"I have visited Mount Athos and the Holy Land in Jerusalem, many times. At Mount Athos I had the feeling of the presence of Panagia and I was able to understand why it is referred to as “the garden of Panagia.” At the Holy Land, I have experienced the presence of Christ and for that reason I requested from Metropolitan to go with apospasi (on loan) to serve at the patriarchate of Jerusalem. I have had the blessing, since 2019, to serve at the Holy Sepulcher. Here, Divine Liturgy takes place every night at midnight just as we celebrate the Pascha Liturgy here in the US. Recently, His Eminence has requested that I return due to the needs of the Metropolis. It will be a great honor to serve you as a priest at Holy Trinity and Saint Spyridon."
